Had a good day.. finished Tortilla Flat, and began The Teahouse Fire by
Ellis Avery. It is so good! It’s about a little American girl that is
orphanned in 1860’s Japan and taken in by the Shin family. That’s as
far as I’ve gotten, but it’s told so well, both thoughfully and
tenderly. I’ve begun to study and read at Borders, which is a short
bikepath walk east. I also got a reusable canvas bag, and walk home
with my groceries after stopping at the next-door Dierberg’s. It has
given life a nice, cyclical feel to it. Right now I am at campus
printing off all of the reading I have to do this week- over 150 pages.
